I purchased the 7x42 Zeiss FL's because they are the lightest (26.1oz) ultra premium 7x42 with the widest AFOV/FOV (60°/8.6°) and the closest focus (6.5 ft). In the bird forums someone tested the new 7x42 Nikon EDG vs the Zeiss 8x42 FL's and the 8x42 FL's were brighter . The 7x42 FL's are brighter than my Celestron 7x50 IF/RC Oceana and 9x63 Pentax DCF's.
